This January, OVITZ had an incredible time at the Global Specialty Lens Symposium (GSLS) in Las Vegas, joining over 850 eye care professionals from around the world. This year was particularly special as we announced our collaboration with Bausch + Lomb and FocalPoints, bringing the power of OVITZ HOA optics to the Zenlens Chroma HOA lens.

We also shared exciting results from a recently published double-blind clinical study (John Gelles et al., Eye & Contact Lens), which demonstrated remarkable objective and subjective vision improvements for patients wearing OVITZ-Added (ARES) scleral lenses compared to standard scleral lenses.

One of the key highlights for Bausch + Lomb at GSLS this year was the announcement of the Zenlens Chroma HOA lens, featuring OVITZ HOA optics in collaboration with OVITZ and FocalPoints. Zenlens is one of the most widely trusted and well-loved scleral lenses among eye care professionals, and this new partnership brings advanced wavefront-guided correction to an already exceptional product.

Over the past year, OVITZ worked closely with Bausch + Lomb and FocalPoints, conducting pilot testing with a select group of Key Opinion Leader (KOL) doctors. The goal was to refine the seamless integration of OVITZ’s custom-designed HOA optics into the Zenlens platform for optimal visual outcomes while also streamlining the support process for practitioners. The results have been outstanding, and we’re excited that more patients — including those already wearing Zenlens — now have the opportunity to enhance their vision by adding OVITZ HOA optics and upgrading to Zenlens Chroma HOA.

The poster sessions at GSLS 2025 provided a valuable opportunity for researchers and clinicians to present real-world case studies and discuss insights with fellow eye care professionals. This year, higher-order aberrations (HOAs) emerged as one of the most talked-about topics, with the highest number of HOA-related posters to date. The overwhelming interest reflected the growing recognition of HOA correction as a crucial component of specialty contact lens care.

Each poster featured real-world clinical cases demonstrating the benefits of HOA correction using OVITZ xwave aberrometry and OVITZ-Added wavefront-guided scleral lenses. Cases ranged from keratoconus, Intacs, and post-LASIK complications to post-crosslinking patients — all showing significant improvements in BCVA and overall visual performance with HOA reduction. Additionally, presentations highlighted OVITZ Extended Depth of Focus (EDOF) optics and precisely decentered multifocal designs, illustrating how advanced customization can further enhance vision correction.

Several OVITZ Authorized Doctors presented their clinical findings, offering valuable firsthand insights into how wavefront-guided optics have transformed their patients’ visual outcomes.

The enthusiastic discussions and engagement during these sessions underscored the growing demand for HOA correction solutions. Seeing so many experts collaborate and share their experiences reinforced our commitment to advancing wavefront-guided optics, ensuring more patients benefit from precision-driven, customized vision solutions.
